Our Roots: A Family Tradition

New England Apple Products traces its history back more than 150 years to 1865, when the Standard Vinegar Works was founded in Somerville, Massachusetts. In 1900, Arthur Edward Rowse Sr.—great-grandfather of current owners Steve & David Rowse —purchased the company, setting the stage for a family legacy. The Rowse family later expanded their reach through Veryfine Products Inc. of Littleton, Massachusetts, a household name for decades with roots running back to those same beginnings. Today, New England Apple Products carries forward the Rowse family tradition of turning local apples into something truly delicious

Supporting Orchards

Since day one, New England Apple Products has worked to give every apple a home and orchards a reliable partner. For generations, we’ve helped growers make the most of their harvest by turning apples that don’t meet the “perfect” standard into something beautiful: cider. Even a bruised or misshapen apple carries the same sweetness and character, and by using them, farms can benefit from their full crop yield—reducing waste, supporting growers, and keeping our local orchards thriving.

Craft in Every Bottle & Can

At New England Apple Products, we don’t just make cider—we craft it with intention. Where others may take shortcuts, we put care, precision, and respect for the fruit at the heart of everything we do. “We like to say we ‘bottle the orchard,’ but behind that simplicity lies true craftsmanship.

Every apple is cold-pressed to preserve its natural flavor and nutritional benefits. We then carefully curate, creating ciders with depth, balance, and character. By sourcing from orchards across New England and New York, we capture the full richness and diversity of the region’s harvest. Our cider is cold-pressed, pasteurized, and quickly chilled again — locking in freshness and preserving every bit of flavor.

The result is cider as it should be: crisp, clean, and bursting with the honest flavor of real apples.

Carrying the legacy forward

Through good years and challenging ones, New England Apple Products has stood alongside the region’s orchards, helping farms make the most of every harvest. Today, under the Rowse brothers’ leadership, we continue to honor the heritage begun by their great-grandfather—crafting cider that reflects the land, the growers, and the enduring spirit of New England farming. From orchard to glass, our story is one of perseverance, community, and care.
